“ We were told by the school that our son could not be taught how to read, so instead they were planning to teach him how to cope!

From Coping...

Teachers and parents should no longer treat dyslexia as if it were an incurable disease.

This 13 year old student made 198 errors when pre-tested using the PRC’s Oral Reading Diagnostic Test. This very poor score is to be expected from grossly decoding-disabled students.

He was also tested with the Gates-McKillop Oral Reading Diagnostic Test and was scored at a third grade level

…to reading

After only 202 hours of instruction (less than one year), having read thousands of multisyllabic words within the controlled reading material (the application of decoding skills learned in the daily exercises), our formerly grossly decoding-disabled student made only 14 errors on the post-test, all of which he was able to correct immediately after being told: “You said ‘core’. What is the word?” “You said ‘breathe’. What is the word?”

His actual oral responses for both tests are shown on our pre-test and post-test pages, with errors he made highlighted.
