Your family can benefit, too!

By 7th grade, my bright daughter's self esteem was shattered because she could not read well enough to keep up. The PHONETIC READING CHAIN has given her the ability and confidence to read aloud without embarrassment. For the first time, she is a "B" student in English, her vocabulary has grown greatly, and she corrects me when I mispronounce words. Our sincere thanks!

If your child can see, hear, hold a pencil, and remember what has been taught, he or she will learn to read with this series.

It can be frightening for parents to face the prospect of their child not being able to keep up in school due to a reading (decoding) disability. But your child will quickly catch up to his classmates and regain lost esteem by using the PRC program.

  • No matter what the age.
  • No matter how severe the decoding problems.
  • No matter how many other classroom methods or use-at-home products have failed. See One Boy's Story.

Teaching them to read words accurately with the PRC program requires no special training, and the program is easy to follow:

Step 1: Read the Teacher's Manual to learn the PRC's rationale and methods to solve decoding problems, and for instructions specific to each unit's daily exercises.

Step 2: Guide the student through the exercises using the Oral Reading Books, Flash Cards, and Silent Reading Language lessons.

Step 3: Administer and grade the Cumulative Tests at the end of each unit.

The Phonetic Reading Chain is purposely designed without pictures or other graphics. This makes it ideal for students who are susceptible to distraction , including those diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder. It also allows the program to be used for all age groups, from age seven on up.

The student sees (visual), hears (audio), and speaks and writes (kinesthetic) in each daily exercise, keeping interest high while reinforcing the links in the learning chain. Reading aloud the humorous mini-stories provides the student some fun and laughter while they use what they have learned.

Finally, the pace is "as fast as they can go", and the faster students learn, the better. Home schooling parents who invest an hour each day can generally finish the program in about one school year (200 hours). Cumulative testing at the end of each unit lets you rest assured you are doing a great job.

And of course, there are always caring, experienced tutors to help you, either on-line or over the phone. More information about the content of the program can be found on the PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS, PRODUCTS, and FAQ pages.
